Overview
The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 is a 7-inch touchscreen all-in-one panel, sold through dealers and usually paired with Alarm.com service. Its wireless is PowerG, the encrypted, two-way, long-range technology also used by DSC, and it can also learn certain older sensors so a system can be upgraded without replacing every door contact.

Error Codes
The IQ Panel 4 shows troubles as alerts in the status area at the top of the screen: sensor low battery, tamper, supervision loss, AC power, panel battery, and cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity. See Qolsys IQ Panel alerts for what each one means and how to fix it.
Troubleshooting
Panel battery alerts
The internal battery wears out over time. If the panel reports a low battery while on mains power, or dies quickly in an outage, replace it with the IQ Panel 4 battery. Check the power supply first; the panel uses the IQ Panel 2/4 power supply.
Cellular trouble
Check the signal reading in the panel's settings. Weak signal in a basement or metal-sided home is common. If signal is fine, your dealer can confirm the Alarm.com account and radio are active.
Sensors from an old system
PowerG sensors work natively. Older sensors only work if the panel has the legacy daughter card for their frequency, and only certain brands and models are supported. Check before you plan to keep them.
Compatible Peripherals
- Keypads and touchscreens: IQ Keypad PG, IQ Remote, IQ Remote PowerG.

Installation Notes
- Mount on the wall bracket or a table stand where the camera can see whoever approaches the panel.
- Enroll PowerG devices near the panel, then check signal strength at the mounting spot.
- Use the installer or dealer code for advanced settings; change them from the defaults on every install. See installer and master codes.
- Secondary touchscreens (IQ Remote, IQ Remote PowerG) and the IQ Keypad PG extend control to other rooms.
FAQs
Can I use DSC PowerG sensors with an IQ Panel 4?
Generally yes; PowerG is shared technology. Confirm the specific device is supported in the panel's current firmware.
Can I monitor an IQ Panel 4 myself?
IQ panels are dealer products; app access and cellular service come through the dealer's Alarm.com account. Some dealers offer self-monitoring plans.
