Before You Install or Replace One

  • Confirm exact model number on the communicator label matches the install manual.
  • Verify host panel family — Keybus PowerSeries, Neo Corbus, MAXSYS Combus, IMPASSA integrated, or universal dialer-capture are not interchangeable.
  • Confirm monitoring receiver and account accept this communicator format (Contact ID, SIA, IP, cellular).
  • Check carrier/network generation (3G sunset, LTE band, Ethernet path) for your region.
  • Add communicator current draw to panel battery standby calculation where the module loads from panel bus power.

Error Codes

Neo control panel listing (not a communicator)

This catalog entry is a control panel, not a standalone communicator. Reporting requires a separate Neo alt-comms module (TL280, TL880, etc.).

Site symptomActual fix
FTC / communicator troubleIdentify installed TL280/TL880/SEM on Corbus
"Communicator won't enroll"Enroll alt-comms at [902] — panel board is not the dialer

Panel FTC and alt-comms troubles apply to the host communicator, not this accessory — see the communicator listing for full trouble tables.

Troubleshooting

Neo panel vs communicator

  • For FTC issues, identify the installed communicator model on Corbus — panel SKU alone does not define reporting path.
  • Clear panel power/Corbus troubles before alt-comms enrollment testing.
  • Use communicator product pages on AlarmSystemHelp for TL280/TL880 LED and trouble tables.

For panel reporting faults (FTC, alt-comms), troubleshoot the host communicator module paired with this product — not this accessory alone.

Compatible Peripherals

This page lists which alarm panels and related equipment work with this communicator — not wireless sensors or keypads.

Host panels & systems

This product does not mount on end-user alarm panels — see Related accessories below.

Related accessories

  • Neo Corbus communicators: TL280/3G2080, TL880LT/LE, 3G8080/CD8080
  • PCL-422 remote mount
  • Alarm.com dual-path modules where deployed

Not compatible

  • Treating this listing as a purchasable communicator SKU

Central station / receiver notes

Universal and T-Link products require a monitoring receiver that accepts the communicator's protocol and supervision. Confirm with your central station before install.

Installation Notes

Follow HS2016–HS2128 Installation Guide v1.35 for wiring, mounting, enrollment, and receiver programming. Summary below — not a substitute for the full manual.

Pre-install checklist

  • Match communicator SKU to host panel family (see compatible-peripherals.md).
  • Plan mounting location — metal cabinets, underground rooms, and long coax runs affect cellular/IP performance.
  • Reserve panel bus power or external power per manual; update battery calculation chart.
  • Confirm monitoring account and receiver are provisioned before final test.

Typical install sequence

  1. Mount communicator (or PCL-422 remote mount if used) per manual clearances.
  1. Wire power and data: Corbus/Keybus homerun, dialer Tip/Ring, or Ethernet as applicable.
  1. Enroll module in panel programming (Neo/Pro [902], PowerSeries alt-comms section, IMPASSA [382]/[401] as applicable).
  1. Program reporting codes, account, and path priority (primary/backup for dual-path).
  1. Register with central station / Alarm.com / T-Link receiver.
  1. Run end-to-end communication test and document signal levels.

FAQs

Which panels does this communicator work with?

See compatible-peripherals.md for the host panel table. This communicator is not universal unless explicitly listed as panel-agnostic dialer capture (3G4010, LE4000, TL300 universal families).

Is this the same as a T-Link receiver?

No. Communicators send signals from the premises panel; Sur-Gard/T-Link receivers accept signals at the central station. Both must be compatible with your monitoring path.

Why does the panel show FTC after install?

Failure to Communicate means the panel could not complete a successful report — check wiring, account programming, receiver availability, and format (Contact ID/SIA) before replacing hardware.

Can I move this communicator to a different panel brand?

Only universal dialer-capture units (3G4010, LE4000, etc.) are designed for multi-brand use. Panel-bus modules (GS2060, TL280, TL880, TL250) are family-specific.
